Beauty Is Skindeep, aka Beauty’s Skindeep, was Founded in 2004 by Denice Williams-Clarke. Denice has more than three decades of beauty industry experience. Denice, a single mother of a 2-year old daughter and undocumented immigrant at the time, needed to find a way to support herself. It was in 1993 that she landed herself a job working as a counter girl/makeup artist and store manager for a very profitable and well known black owned cosmetic company in the Downtown Brooklyn, New York area.
While working many hours as a makeup artist, Denice's skills blossomed into a “super power“ thus making women look and feel absolutely beautiful. After obtaining a legal status in the United States, Denice's family dynamic changed, and she & her family moved to Florida. Her career focus shifted from makeup to a new career in retail management. She quickly moved up the ranks in retail but still felt lost and unfulfilled as her passion was in makeup. She decided to return to school to further her education in skincare and started a career as an Aesthetician specializing in acne, anti-aging, and skin rejuvenation treatments. That was the birth of Beauty Is Skindeep.
In 2004 Beauty is Skindeep opened its doors to the local South Florida community. Beauty is Skindeep carries a full line of cosmetics for every shade of brown and black for women and men. Denice specializes in teaching customers how to properly care for their skin and teaches one-on-one makeup classes for those intimidated by growing makeup trends. The Beauty is Skin Deep makeup line is water-based, non-comedogenic, and gluten and paraben free. Denice assists in choosing the perfect color match for the client's skin tone thus enhancing a customer's true beauty with minimal effort. Denice places a significant focus on educating her clients about the medical-grade skincare products that she carries which repairs common skin abnormalities to return the skin to it's natural, blemish-free glow.
